Can I use this camera outdoors?
No. The S-CAM2 is designed for indoor use only. For outdoor surveillance, see the SONOFF CAM-B1P with IP65 weatherproofing.
Does it work with Home Assistant?
Yes. The S-CAM2 supports RTSP, so you can add the video feed to Home Assistant. It also works via the eWeLink HACS integration. Note: the S-CAM2 supports RTSP but not ONVIF — the CAM-PT2 adds ONVIF support.
How wide is the viewing angle?
The S-CAM2 has a 130° wide-angle lens — the widest of all three SONOFF cameras. This covers a large area from a single fixed position, ideal for monitoring rooms, hallways, and doorways without pan-tilt.
Is the infrared visible at night (red glow)?
No. The S-CAM2 uses 940nm invisible infrared LEDs — there's no visible red glow. Safe for bedrooms and nurseries.
Does it need a subscription?
No. Record to a microSD card (up to 128 GB) for free — continuous, scheduled, or event-triggered. Cloud storage is optional.
Can I trigger it from a door sensor?
Yes. In the eWeLink app, you can create smart scenes that link the S-CAM2 with other SONOFF devices. For example: when a SNZB-04P door sensor detects an opening, the camera starts recording and sends a push notification.
