Unlike a regular indoor camera pointed through a window, the GlassView has no infrared or white fill lights -- the number one cause of night-time glass reflections -- and uses a dedicated anti-glare algorithm and a bright F1.0 lens for crisp 2K full-colour video day and night. Three magnetic mounting brackets and 3M adhesive mean no drilling, and the camera stays protected from weather, theft and tampering while keeping a strong indoor WiFi signal. No IR night vision by design. To avoid glass reflections, the GlassView has no infrared or white fill lights. Night-time video relies on ambient outdoor light (street lights, porch lights, landscape lighting, moonlight). It works very well in typical suburban settings but is not suited to pitch-black rural locations with zero ambient light. Frequently Asked Questions

Why not just point a normal camera through the window?

At night a normal camera's infrared LEDs bounce off the glass and all you see is a white glow. The GlassView has no IR lights, uses an anti-glare algorithm and a bright F1.0 lens built for low light, and its magnetic bracket holds it flat against the glass where reflections are minimal. It is designed for this job; a regular camera is not.

How does it see at night without infrared?

It relies on ambient outdoor light -- street lights, porch or security lights, garden lighting, moonlight. In a typical suburb this is plenty for clear full-colour footage. In a very dark rural setting with no light at all, image quality will drop. If that is your situation, choose the CAM-B1P instead.

Do I need the eWeLink app?

No. The built-in OpenEdge web console lets you view live video, configure every setting, enable RTSP/ONVIF and update firmware from any browser on your home network. The eWeLink app is optional for remote viewing and push notifications.

Does it work with Home Assistant?

Yes. Enable RTSP or ONVIF in the web console and add it to Home Assistant with the Generic Camera or ONVIF integration. Fully local -- no cloud account required. Works with Frigate for local AI and NVR recording.

Is there a subscription?

No. Recordings go to a microSD card (up to 128 GB, sold separately). There is no cloud storage option and no monthly fee. Without a card you still get live view and event notifications, but no playback clips.

Will the adhesive damage my window?

The brackets use 3M adhesive which removes cleanly from glass. The camera itself attaches to the bracket magnetically, so you can lift it off for cleaning without touching the adhesive. Mount on a window that is shaded during the hottest part of the day to keep the adhesive strong.

What type of glass works best?

Clean single-pane glass is ideal. Double glazing works with slight reflections. Tinted, Low-E coated, frosted or textured glass reduces quality, especially at night. Do not mount behind a fly screen.

Can it hear and speak?

Yes. Two-way audio through the built-in mic and speaker. Note that sound passes through the glass, so it is clearer for nearby conversations than for someone far across the yard.

Can I link it to Zigbee sensors?

Yes, through eWeLink smart scenes with a Zigbee hub such as the ZB Bridge-P. Example: SNZB-04P gate sensor opens, the GlassView starts recording and sends a snapshot to your phone.
