What's new vs the 1PM Gen3?

Gen4 adds native Zigbee and Matter certification, a faster CPU with more RAM, and lower latency. If you run a Zigbee mesh (e.g. Zigbee2MQTT or ZHA) or an Apple Home/Matter setup, Gen4 is the one to get.

Does it need a hub?

No. In WiFi mode it connects straight to your router. In Zigbee mode it pairs with any Zigbee coordinator you already have (Home Assistant dongle, Hue bridge, SmartThings, etc.).

Can I keep using my wall switch?

Yes — the module wires in behind your existing switch, which keeps working normally alongside app, voice and automation control.
